What is EagleVoice?
EagleVoice is a Voice over Internet Protocol, VoIP, service. EagleVoice offers the standard calling features and the service quality that you expect from your phone service provider. Calling Features Offered (feature availability due to level of service): Caller ID, Call Waiting, Voice Mail, Call Forwarding, Call ID Blocking, 3-Way Calling and Anonymous Call Rejection.
What is VoIP?
VoIP is Voice over Internet Protocol. While this service does allow for your call to be transported over the public Internet for portability capabilities, when your phone is connected to Eagle’s cable system your call will not be interrupted with the traffic of the public Internet. Instead your call will travel a dedicated fiber connection to ensure that you receive the quality of service you expect.
Will I need to purchase a special phone?
No, all standard touch-tone phones, wall mounted, portable and cordless phones will work with EagleVoice.
Will I need special equipment?
You will need an EMTA (Embedded Media Terminal Adapter). Eagle Communications will provide you with and maintain the equipment.
How do I place a call?
Just pick up your phone and dial the 10-digit number for both local and long distance calls; like you do when you dial to make a call from a cell phone. For International calls, you will need to dial the international code.
Can I use my computer and my phone at the same time?
Yes. With Eagle quality of service, your phone conversation is provisioned with a dedicated amount of bandwidth so that your phone conversation will not be interrupted and you will still maintain Internet connectivity on your computer.
Do I need to subscribe to other Eagle services in order to subscribe to EagleVoice?
No. However, if you are a subscriber to other Eagle services (Eagle Cable TV service and/or Eagle High-Speed Internet service) you will receive a discount on you EagleVoice Service. You could save up to $257.40 a year from bundling alone when subscribe to multiple Eagle Services.
Will EagleVoice replace my current local and long distance phone service provider?
Yes. The Eagle 500 plan gives you 500 minutes of local and long distance calls, made to anywhere in the U.S., per month. The Eagle Unlimited plan gives you unlimited local and long distance calls, made anywhere in the U.S., per month. You will also be able to make International calls. International call rates will apply.
Can I keep my current phone number?*
Yes. For a low one-time-only charge you can keep your current phone number. In some cases there may be a delay in being able to transfer your number. In those cases, Eagle will supply you with a temporary number until yours is able to be transferred.
Can I have more than one phone number?*
Yes. EagleVoice allows for multiple phone numbers to ring to the same phone. For example, if you live in Hays but your family lives in Kansas City, you can get a local number for Hays and a local number for Kansas City. This will enable your family to call you without long distance charges. You can add another number for only $5.00 a month. However, to get two separate phone lines the purchase of a second phone package.
Will my new EagleVoice service have 911 capabilities?
Yes. It works the same way as a traditional phone service.
